Good Things

There are two sides to waiting. You’re either waiting for something to happen, or waiting to do something. While my friend here talks about the latter, I’m more interested in the former.

I have been waiting for something to happen my entire life. Waiting for the girl I like to talk to me. Waiting for the price of the thing I really like to drop. Waiting for the rain to stop, or the sun to come out. In short, I’m just waiting for the world to pass by. Waiting.

But waiting has never been so satisfying as today.

Because by the end of this week, I would be gainfully employed. And that feeling, of having a good thing happening in your life, is worth waiting for. I’m not sure if that’s the correct attitude, but it sure beats getting around going nowhere.

Smile

Why can’t gorgeous ladies just smile?

Like when you’re walking down the street, and you spot this gorgeous chick walking the other direction. The song Pretty Women plays in your head. And you wish you could slow down time so that you can look at her on slow-motion mode. Then when you guys are like a meter apart you realise just how much more gorgeous she is from this distance. And you wonder how she will look like if she just flash a smile.

Seriously, why can’t gorgeous ladies smile? Is it because they know they’re so hot that the less hot people like me don’t deserve it? Is it because they know they’re so hot that they couldn’t care less about less hot people like me? I don’t know. Do you know?

Anyway, doesn’t matter. It is just a random musing because I haven’t seen a sweet warm smile from anyone for a long time. And I kindda miss it, that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you see the most sincere smile from the heart. You know what I mean?

I fall in love with the smile. It is the only window to the warmth of her heart.

I made that up, I could be wrong about it though.

Anyway, good day I’d say. But smile, damnit, just freaking smile! =)
